Easter Doh

Right after the new year, Sprinkles and I went to The Cotton Candy Kingdom for a much needed getaway. It’s nice that her parents live there– so we know we always have a place to stay. We did our usual thing; a hike up Hot Fudge Mountain, sodas with Buttercream Fairy, and of course collecting Skittles during spring rainbow showers. But this trip I decided to attend an art class. Being that everything in the Cotton Candy Kingdom is magic– I figured an art class would be pretty out of this world!
The day that I went, the Easter Bunny just so happened to be teaching the class. On his “off season” he enjoys having a creative outlet. That day he was teaching about how to make Easter Dough. I am going to pass on the recipe. Now, obviously you aren’t going to be able to find pixie dust and mermaid scales at Walmart… so unfortunately, your dough will not come to life after using cookie cutter on it– BUT you will love it!
Here is what you’ll need…
1 cup water
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup salt
1 tablespoon cream of tartar
1 cup flour
4 tbsp. Raspberry Flavor
Food coloring (Blue & Pink)
Glitter
Saucepan
Large spoon
Whisk
Mixing Bowl
(We picked up all of these ingredients at Walmart)
Let’s get started!
1.) Combine water, oil, salt, raspberry flavor, food coloring and cream of tartar in saucepan and heat until warm. (Since it’s Easter Dough, and Easter is known for pastels– I only added about two drops of food coloring to each batch.)
2.) In a large bowl whisk together your flour and glitter.
3.) Remove the saucepan from heat and add flour/glitter.
4.) Stir, then knead until smooth (it will be hot… so be careful! I let mine cool for a few moments until I could tolerate kneading it).
5.) Play with your dough! (Store this dough in an airtight container or a Ziploc freezer bag. I like to use mason jars. You can also put a damp paper towel in the bottom to help keep your dough moist.)
Happy Easter!! xx
