"Our greatest natural resource is the minds of our children." -Walt Disney
Hey, I’m Nickey. I love mixing colors, sea monkey farming, catching fireflies, random acts of kindness, storytelling and making people laugh so hard they cry. I was born and raised in the middle of nowhere Alaska and now I live in “Colorful” Colorado. I was a full time nanny for almost 11 years and was able to go on some amazing adventures around the world with some very special kids. From being a movie set nanny to chasing kids across the beaches of Australia…. There was never a dull moment.
About a year ago, while drawing a chalk mural in Central Park, my life changed forever. That was the day I met my pet unicorn, Sprinkles. We became instant friends and not long after that she moved into my Upper West Side apartment. She was fascinated by all of the art projects and illustrations on my blog, and quickly became my Colors Are Magic intern. Having a pet unicorn has it’s major perks. For example, humans aren’t able to visit the Cotton Candy Kingdom— but Sprinkles uses her horn to “zap” me there. It’s the most incredibly magic place ever. If you do any of our crafts posts— you will more than likely get to hear about some of our colorful and amazing adventures there.
If you are new to this blog, please make sure to stop into Love In Color. It is our little corner of the web where we post ideas on how to use creativity as random acts of kindness. It’s super dear to my heart and a whole lot of fun!
