Hot Chocolate Paint

I am sure that if you are a frequent reader of this blog, the fact that I love painting is no surprise to you. I just love it. In fact– there are few things I love more than applying paint to a brand new blank canvas. Well, that’s what I thought… until Sprinkles took to me to the Cotton Candy Kingdom to visit her parents and I saw how they paint. Are you ready for this?… In the Cotton Candy Kingdom, the citizens use candy to make paints. I know. Amazing. They mix the candies with a little unicorn magic, of course- but I still think it’s crazy cool. Here is a list of their colors:

Red- Red Hots

Orange – (orange) Skittles

Yellow – Lemon Heads

Green – (green) Rock Candy

Blue – (blue) Jolly Ranchers

Purple – (purple) Gumdrops

Pink – Cotton Candy

Black – Licorice

White – Marshmallow

Brown – Hot Chocolate

Since it’s the Holiday season, I asked Sprinkles if we could bring some Hot Chocolate Paint (brown) back with us to Colorado. We have been painting and playing with marshmallows ever since. You should try making some of your own. :)

Let’s get started…

1. Squeeze some of your Elmer’s Glue into a bowl.

2. Add an equal amount of Barbasol Shaving Cream into the blow with the glue.

3. Next, mix together 1 tbs. of hot chocolate and 1 tbs. of cocoa with a small amount of water in a separate bowl. When it is mixed through well, pour your chocolatey mix into the bowl with your shaving cream and glue.

4. Mix together until the color is worked completely through and you are able to form little “peaks’ with your paint.

5. Sprinkles and I used construction paper to make mugs, and painted our hot chocolate into them. Next we topped them with a couple of mini marshmallows.
