  • Pumpkins! Pumpkins! Pumpkins!

If there is anything I have learned about pumpkins over the years, it is that there are no rules. Yes, old school caving is always a good time (and we totally did that too)– but sometimes using a little imagination is just the ticket. This year I played with quite a few fun pumpkin ideas.

This weekend, Sprinkles and I met up with a bunch of the teens from our church youth group for a pumpkin carving and decorating hang out. It was a blast and I loved seeing the creativity that came out of the young people when they saw all of the different supplies in from of them.

If you are looking for something a little more out of the box in the pumpkin department this year… have a look through some of these options!

  • Secret Spider Webs

I can’t believe that Halloween is less than 2 weeks away. Seriously, where did the year go? Rhetorical.

Anyhow, one of my favorite crafts to do with my pet unicorn, Sprinkles, is Secret Scribbles. They are super simple and totally fun to do. So, I decided to do a little Halloween version with her tonight. If you are looking around for a Halloween craft to do with your little pumpkins, this is a great option.

  • Baby’s First Halloween | 15 Adorable Costumes

Babies. Let’s face it, they are already super cute– but add a Halloween costume and your heart may just explode.

I intended on asking my mother to tell me all about my first Halloween for inspiration for this post. Unfortunately, the story wasn’t much of a story. Ha! Apparently my mother was recovering from giving birth and a broken tail bone– so I stayed home and was nothing for Halloween. So let’s just get on with it.

  • Boo Goo (Halloween Gak)

It was a dark and stormy night…. well… no it wasn’t– but it makes for a better Halloween story. Anyhow, on this particular Wednesday afternoon, my pet unicorn, Sprinkles, and I were trying to come up with some creative sugar alternatives to hand out to our little Trick-or-Treaters this Halloween. We have already made some very fun and colorful Halloween Crayons (which I am stoked about!) — but we wanted to have some sort of sensory project for our Halloween Porch Party!

  • Halloween Crayons

It is October and Halloween is upon us! This year instead of handing out a plethora of high fructose corn syrup, Sprinkles and I have decided to hand out some fun alternatives. One of those being some super fun Halloween Crayons! Halloween is already pretty dark– let’s add a little color!

  • Tooth Fairy Magic

It’s probably no surprise to any returning readers that I am acquaintances with the Toothy Fairy. My pet unicorn, Sprinkles, and I ran into her while we were picking up a few Colors Are Magic essentials in the Cotton Candy Kingdom (if you are new to this blog… that is where Sprinkles grew up). Michael’s and Hobby Lobby are great for most of the craft and projects that we do– but sometimes you some mermaid scales or pixie dust. Those are next to impossible to find here in Colorado– but I digress.

  • Monster Bubbles

As many of you know, Sprinkles (my pet unicorn), and I just moved to Colorado a little over 3 months ago. We used to live in New York City. Yes… it was quite the culture shock.

New York City is this amazing cocktail of culture. It has its own rhythm, smells, colors, sounds, and tastes. It’s one of those places that you love so much, and at the same time you need to get out of the city’s pulse from time to time. Just enough so that you miss it again.

My happy place in NYC is Central Park. It has been since I was 11 years old and set foot in there for the first time on a family vacation. The buskers make it even more magic to me. I just love going on a walk and hearing violins… or seeing little kids all gathered around to watch a marionette show– but I have to say the bubble buskers are my favorite. Oh, the bubbles! They are massive, colorful…. and memorizing. Naturally when I got to Colorado I began to miss Central Park and all of it’s magical bubbles– so I decided to make some myself. You can too!

  • 4th of July Fun

It’s July, and you know what that means…. Independence Day! I seriously loved this holiday as a kid. I actually still do…. but everything seems to be a little more magical when you are a child.

We used to spend the 4th of July at the lake with all of my cousins. I loved watching fireworks, playing with sparklers, eating endless amount of watermelon, BBQing, swimming and all of the other fun things that are traditional on the 4th. Summers in Alaska are perfect. They aren’t too hot… just perfect.

I found some really fun ideas as I was flicking through some 4th of July ideas on Pinterest for this weekend with my family. I thought I would share them with you in  case you are scrambling for some fun last minute ideas as well. Ha!

  • Melting Crayon Easter Eggs

Easter is nearly here! My pet unicorn and I are very excited for a little warm weather. New York has seriously been having some bipolar weather as of late. So, while the freezing winds were gusting the other day, we snuck off for some much needed relaxation and warm weather in the Cotton Candy Kingdom (where my unicorn grew up). You see, my unicorn’s parents are the the King and Queen of the Cotton Candy Kingdom, and it totally has it’s perks. While we were there, her mother was having rainbow high tea with the Easter Bunny. I just love the Easter Bunny. He’s so cuddly and smells like chocolates and jellybeans.
